ASK4 is delighted to announce a new partnership with Student Minds, the UK’s student mental health charity, in support of their Student Minds SUs virtual event series.
The transition to university life can be a difficult time for many students. The challenges of coping with academic pressures, financial worries and living away from home, plus the additional challenges raised by the COVID-19 pandemic, will all have a significant impact on students' mental health and wellbeing.
Student Minds empowers students and members of the university community to develop the knowledge, confidence and skills to look after their own mental health, support others and create change. To help students through the pandemic, they have launched Student Space which provides direct support via text, phone, web chat or email. Student Space also provides online resources and a search function for students to find support at their university.
Commenting on the partnership, ASK4 Founder and CEO, Jonathan Burrows said:
“Mental health can affect anyone, at any time and is something that nobody should have to face alone. That’s why ASK4 is delighted to be supporting the Student Minds’ SUs virtual event series initiative. The more support available, the more lives the charity can change. We wish the team every success and hope the platform provides students with the support they need during their time at university.”
Alice Cooper, Corporate Funding Officer at Student Minds, added:
“The virtual event series will be a key feature of Student Minds SUs programme which aims to create cultural change and promote positive mental health within SUs, universities and wider communities. We’re delighted to be working in partnership with ASK4 and are incredibly thankful for their generous donation in a very uncertain year for students across the UK.“
Alfie Gamester, Head of ASK4 Support Services, added:
“We’re pleased to be supporting another Student Minds project. The new virtual event series will deliver a range of key activities to help improve student mental health and wellbeing and something we are proud to support.”
The broadband and WiFi connectivity delivered by ASK4 in student accommodation is a vital service, enabling them to study, to keep in touch with friends and family, and to access any support they might need online. Both ASK4 and Student Minds hope this latest initiative will benefit thousands of students across the UK.
