Project Summary

ASK4 has partnered with CRM Students for many years, which is why we were appointed to provide Internet services to their new scheme for September 2020. The project comprised of 3 developments: The Bank, Southampton (68 bed), The Quarry Falmouth (134 bed) and The City Arcade, Exeter (64 bed), adding to their portfolio of over 23,000 beds across the UK.

All three sites were delivered on a late instruction in July, with just a short amount of time to implement an Internet service provision. The ASK4 provisioning team worked with CRM Students to understand where the client was with the provisioning of the services across all of the developments.

The first task for ASK4 was to understand what sort of signal capabilities were available at all three developments. ASK4 were able to use routers, dongles, and wireless links to carry out testing on the sites, covering all obstacles and having contingencies in place in the event that deadlines were not met. ASK4 were able to provide a full service by the end of October for all three sites.

Matt Floyd, Head of Mobilisation at CRM Students, said:

“ASK4 has been very reactive to our needs and able to help us find solutions for some tight deadlines. Considering the challenging timelines we were facing on the three projects in question, ASK4 managed to deliver great connectivity for our students upon moving in, which is a fantastic achievement for all involved.

The need for fast and reliable Internet is an essential service for the residents and staff of CRM. Without ASK4’s service, residents wouldn’t be able to connect with friends and family or access online lectures when staying at their accommodation. An iPad, laptop or phone is usually the first item a resident will take out of their bag when arriving at their accommodation, following that will be the request for the WiFi code. ASK4’s fully managed service allows a quick and simple way for residents to access the WiFi connection as soon as they move in. There is also the reassurance that if there are any problems with connection, ASK4’s 24/7/365 support team are available to address issues straight away”.

Kerry Mattock, Client Relationship Director for CRM Students at ASK4, added:

“We have worked in partnership with CRM since its commencement in the sector, delivering services to encompass their ethos, a bespoke solution for each of the client schemes ensuring they have happy residents. We have developed strong relationships and confidence within the CRM team in our Internet service, design and delivery.”
